The Client

NHS is one of the largest health organizations in the country. Its primary function is to provide comprehensive healthcare to its citizens, based on individual need rather than ability to pay. NHS has a continuing commitment to modernize and improve the responsiveness of its service. As part of this commitment, the organization recognized that the health of the citizens within its region could be improved in line with national standards. As a result, NHS commissioned a study to see how it could improve the overall health of the region.

The Challenge

NHS has a clear commitment to serving its region. As part of this commitment, the organization undertook a strategic healthcare review of its processes and goals to enable them to identify areas where it could better improve the health of the citizens it serves. The review was adopted as policy, and the organization identified that it would require an effective IT platform to allow control over the multiple projects created as a result of the policy adoption.

• To effectively control and manage projects, resources and relevant documentation
• To provide a holistic view of all programs, and have the ability for individuals to drill down to a transparent view of specific projects

The Pcubed Solution

Pcubed and Trinity partnered to create ProgramShare, a solution based on Project Server, SharePoint Portal Server, Windows SharePoint Services, BizTalk Server and Project Web Access. ProgramShare provides a high-level and connected view of all programs of work, while allowing users to drill down for specific project information. Key features include:

• Detailed view of individual projects
• Assist in the identification of cross-project dependencies and resource planning
• Allow effective management of risks and issues
• Provide specific document approval functionality
• Assist in project documentation and communication management

• A central repository, with search functionality, for all project documentation
• The identification of any program or project that might conflict the project's lifecycle
• The ability to create, cross reference and manage the various projects
• High-level access to multiple projects from one screen
• Complete visibility of project issues and deliverables
