The Challenge
Reduce project overruns and provide fact-based, accurate project status reporting across the TS CIO organization along with providing Accenture with standardized information-based project reporting with a structured Project Management Framework.
Other key challenges included:
- Establishing a centre of PM excellence and establish self-sufficient capability across 24 project managers for the application of Project Management principles and support Project Management Tools
- Developing and executing a scalable solution to facilitate high adoption and utilization of Microsoft Project and Project Central
- Allowing the collection of Actual Work and Estimates to complete by Project, by Resource
The Pcubed Solution
Accenture will establish a comprehensive project management toolkit allowing accuracy of available data and timeliness of updates amongst a multi-disciplined and distributed workforce, and help develop a "Project Definition Planning" process allowing better control, management and visibility of Projects not yet in Execution.
Key elements of the solution included:
- Implementation of MS Project Management Tools - Project Central to status updates, reporting, and timesheet capture together with MS Project
- Put in place Project Maturity Measurement tool to enable measurement of the PM capability in the organization and track the improvements
- Created an internal self-sufficient Project Management Coach approach and capability to support enterprise-wide adoption
